Every oil here is made to order from a single botanical and a single plant part, in a choice of carrier oils selected at checkout. The carrier is confirmed on the per-lot CoA. What exactly is an infused oil? +
Botanical material is steeped in a carrier oil and then filtered out. What remains is the carrier, carrying whatever the steeping transferred into it. The material you receive is, by weight, almost entirely the carrier oil you selected.
How is it different from an oil-soluble extract? +
An oil-soluble extract is a separately produced botanical extract incorporated into an oil-compatible system, usually at a stated active loading, so it carries an assay and a defined ratio. An infused oil has neither, because nothing was concentrated. The practical consequence is inclusion rate: a macerate goes into a formulation at a far higher percentage than an extract of the same botanical. Where a label claim or a known input concentration governs the brief, the oil-soluble range is the correct one.
Can I use an infused oil in place of an essential oil? +
No, and the reverse does not hold either. An essential oil is the volatile fraction separated by distillation or expression and sold neat; it is orders of magnitude more concentrated than a macerate of the same plant and carries a quite different safety and dosing profile. They are not interchangeable at any inclusion rate. For flowers that do not distil well, however, the macerate is the classical format rather than a compromise.
Which carrier oil should I choose? +
The carrier is a variant on every product here and it changes both the finished oil and the price. Sesame is the classical base for Ayurvedic taila. Sunflower and fractionated coconut are the more neutral and lower-cost options. Jojoba is a wax ester rather than a triglyceride and behaves differently in a formulation. Olive carries its own character. Jojoba and olive sit well above the other three on cost, which is reflected in the variant pricing.
Why are leaf, root, bark and seed listed as separate products? +
Because they are separate trade items with different constituent profiles, different prices and different traditional uses. Neem bark, neem leaf and neem seed are three distinct materials, not three descriptions of one. Where more than one grade of a botanical is offered, each product page names the plant part and cross-references the others.
