About This Ingredient

Lutein 10% + Zeaxanthin 1% Water-Dispersible Beadlets supply marigold carotenoids as a formulated beadlet rather than a neat extract powder, assaying not less than 10.00% lutein and not less than 1.0% trans-zeaxanthin by HPLC in a 10:1 ratio. Lutein and zeaxanthin are xanthophyll carotenoids and are lipophilic; in unformulated form they float, clump and distribute unevenly in aqueous bases. The beadlet format is what makes the carotenoids workable in a water-based system, and the manufacturer's finished-product specification carries a water-solubility entry determined by in-house method. Lutein and zeaxanthin are structural isomers and are assayed separately, so a combination grade carries two figures; a specification quoting a single total-carotenoid value is not comparable. Suits beverage premixes, gummies, RTM sticks, capsules and tablets. Minimum order quantity 10 kg.
