About This Amino Derivative

Betaine Hydrochloride is the acid-salt form of trimethylglycine supplied to a ≥99% specification. Used in digestive-support supplement formulation, typically alongside pepsin, where the hydrochloride contributes gastric acidity — a function the anhydrous and monohydrate grades do not perform. Not interchangeable with them on a betaine basis, since roughly a quarter of the weight is hydrochloride. Supplied in capsules rather than beverages.
